Consultant to the Arts Center Building Committee on sustainability issues for the LEED-registered Arts Center renovation. I am also a member of the integrated design team. Sustainable planning is funded by public contributions and the Kresge Foundation. Professional fees waived.

Regularly present local public and classroom programs and workshops on residential energy-conservation strategies and sustainability principles and practices. Professional fees commonly waived.

Volunteer duties have included: working with homeowners to develop house designs, consulting with the Board of Directors on design and construction policy and Energy Star compliance, advising college students on projects, on-site supervision of volunteer workers, and monitoring construction for plan, specification, and energy-efficient compliance. Professional fees waived.


Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly (website)

Volunteer as needed for transportation, holiday meals, elderly visits.

2001–2002
Managed the renovation of 10,000 ft2 historic building into a high-performance passive solar heated office and community center. Most of construction was carried out by volunteers. Much of the materials and equipment rental was in-kind donations. Partial waiver of professional fees.
